my i7 is on with a gtx 295 24 hours a day 7 days a week in my bed room about 8 feet from my head at nite. i would say man up!! lol it doesn't make a noticeable amount of noise. if you are looking for no noise at all tho get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811119189

put a quiet front fan in it and your job is done. i have used 4 of these cases with core2 duo's and unless there is a led fan in the front and the led is hooked up you can't tell the system is on. the led power is separate from the buttens so you could just leave that part dissconnected and there would be no lights also.

Mod the mugen so it will fit, and get a window on the sidepanel as well as paint it black!

Okay,

i got the mstech lc30.

(The blue one)
But the problem is, i dont have a front panel, also no power connectors etc.
The sidepanel is messed up with a useless window, and i hate the color.

I ordered these:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+ 2.90 GHz
Seagate SV35.5 Series 250 GB

And this is what i have:

The case:

Scythe mugen:

Point of view 9600gt 1 gig:

Asrock alive dual esata II:

2x2 gig Kingston ddr2 667mhz ram with revoltec ram freezer gold:

HKC USP-5580, 580watt psu:

One of the white ones for dvd drive:

Soundcard:

Cardreader:

All the cables i need:

Fan vibration absorbers for optional fans:

This is what this pc should do:
1: Stop being this ugly!
2: Have a front panel with working switches etc.
3: Be quiet.
4: Can handle games etc(not real hardcore, thats where the main rig is used for)
5: INVISIBLE! well, at least no single light.
6: Being useable for music, dvd's, downloading etc(media pc)

The things i wanna do:
1: Spray the exterior black.
2: Do something with that crap sidepanel so it doesnt look this bad.
3: Make the sidepanel compatible with the Mugen.
4: Get/Make a front panel.
5: Dont waste much money on this
6: Have fun with this build as second pc.

Now what i wanna know is:

What do you guys think i should do? I would like to see some idea's so ive got something to choose between, cause atm i have no idea what i could do...

well, the main problem is my brother/dad, with a little bit of noise he will complain about it, so i would like it to be silent. It doesnt have to be total passive, but just no exessive noise.
I wont buy an other pc just for it being quiet, i got these parts and just wanna use it, otherwise its old before i could use it again...

My rig is watercooled, and i just dont wanna leave that alone. I know its safe now, but i just dont want it. Second thing on the main rig, it has got a lot of lights, and i dont wanna use 5 switches on the fans/lights so they can be switched off..

Main thing is, get all these crap inside that case and make it all work and look nice, not overkill-nice but just a little bit stealth, so its a nice buddy for the Blue Bastard....

definitely get a fan controller and some nice quiet fans. ether gentle typhoons, R4's, or s-flex's. paint it. window if the panel is messed up but don't if there is no problem with it. buy a kit of dynomat and put that on the flat spots on the case and some fan filters.

hmm, i got an old fan controller somewhere... and i got some 1200rpm fans, so i could get them at 600... and they'll be fine. also i got an other 500rpm fan.
Ill look for some dynomat, that stuff seems to be great
and im pretty sure ill window the side, its messed up cause of the cut out space, i dont like it at all, but with some input it should be nice...
for the fan filters i guess ill use pantyhose...

the problem tho is a cheap case is always going to be loud. thin steal makes more noise then a thick piece tiny fans and the case doesn't look like its a very nice high qualty nor does it fit a after market heat sink so it must be a thiner case so it needs more air flow then a lager case with more air. i would get a better case and your all done.

ye i know this, but my goal is to get this case, i got it for free, mounted with silent hardware, give it a good look and use it.
its no high quality, but i guess thats no problem. Im thinking on getting something like latex on the contact surface from the sidepanels so they wont make noise by hitting the case(vibration). Also i want to put that dyna stuff behind the backpanel and the mobotray, so that is all noiseless.
My goal is just get this cheap case nice and silent.

btw, i had some idea, i can get paint real cheap, so i buy 3 cans, 1 black 1 brown and 1 dark green. Paint the whole case black, and make it kinda camo style, fitting in the deadly theme. I could use some needle leafs for a pattern to spray the brown and green on. I guess you know what i mean, hard to say, something like they use in the movie shooter...

and the interior will be covered with the dyna stuff too...

on the poll i would say the side panel you can always get a new/different style side panel you can't just unmod a heat sink, and i would bet the heat sink cost more then the case

I think acrylic (something opaque) would look great for the front. If you could get a 1/4" sheet of black/white acrylic depending on whether or not you paint you could simply bolt it onto the front with countersunk screws to keep it flush. also, this could work to cover the unused slots on the front or add another fan mount/intake vent.

I actually want to keep up with this mod and offer my input so subbed.
