For painting this case, I used Gloss Engine Block paint, as it is normally pretty hard to scratch, and will put up with a TONS of heat. All blue was a combo of Modelmaster paints, light Grey Primer, GTS Blue Metallic, and Lacquer Clearcoat "for that wet look" as stated on the can.

Hoping this weekend I can find the time for a bench setup, do memtest and Intelburn, once both pass 24 hour tests, then I will start the assembly.

More to come soon
HAHA it was circling Chicago cause it was getting redirected to me LOL

Still looking great, cant wait to see some benching.

Is your hand better or still wrapped?

Great thoughts on the engine paint, that stuff is really durable!

"For The Win" Use a razor blade to cut off those couple spots on the edges of the fans. It almost looks like there's a bit of tape still on them, or just some paint that didn't come off when you pulled the tape off.

I know what FTW means No need, they were still fully taped at that point, I got the pic just before I removed the tape.

Marcam, thanks for jacking my memory HAHA. My hand is a lot better now, little sore, bit of a scar but no biggie atm.
I will probably Vantage it just for the heck of it sometime, but I am not an avid bench marker, just never been my thing. If I can do all my compiling or rendering while alt-tabbing in and out of game, like my current system did when I built it, im happy. I don't care if im faster than you or Fallout or whomever But I will probably bench it for the heck of it.
Funny, I have had ALOT of comments about the engine block paint. I guess it pays to have grown up in a garage, I have a different perspective on things sometimes.

Thats exactly what I did, sanded. You need to do it by feel, run your finger over it, when you stop feeling bubbles, there will usually be a slight rough patch for 1/4-1/2 inch (6.5-13mm for you metric folk) then it smoothes out. Go just a tad into where it smooths out and start sanding.
If the bubbling is severe, use a low grit out paper to bring the big chunks of paint into small rough patches. BE CAREFULL, you can strip it right back to primer/base material if you are not carefull. Then, you use Ultra fine sand paper and buff until it is smooth, then take a clean rag with a dab of water and wash it off, and dry it, otherwise your paint will have a chance at sticking to the dust and it peels off like a sticker. Repaint in the morning when it is cool, and you are usually good to go.

Are you having paint issues you are needing a hand with?

Glad about your hand too btw, usually I bench to see what my rig can do, do I really need it to be the best or fastest, no, but I like the benching

Sounds however like it will be killer can't wait!
