Hey. Looking nice. What did you use to sculpt the IO panel. I know you used the foam for the back brick, but what for the angled part? Was that all Bondo?

Actually no, that was a combination of particle board, duct tape to hold the components in their slots, and bondo to act as glue. Once I got the panels 'glued' in place I then stuffed the inside wtih bondo and then went on to the outside.

MY GOD. I had such a problem with this last nite. No matter what I did, I could not get the power button to function. I tried everything. So then I removed the button and gave 100psi to the interior of the switch and WOWZERS the dust that came outta there.. All is well now

I am doing the finishing touches this afternoon, but for the most part its built. Just gotta see if it runs now :P

EDIT

MOAR pics to come shortly

Ok so as I create this post, I am using Heracles, the subject of this mod. The computer is up, operational, and running stable. I havent attempted overclocking yet, that comes later. I heard this board isnt the greatest for OCing, but apparantly it can manage to get my 2.6 stock up to a 3.6 OC from what ive read, if my CPU can handle that. Not bad for a $70 motherboard. I am very impressed with this rig considering it hardly cost me anything but about a year of my time (off and on).

I will be posting a video sometime soon showing it running in light and dark, because my earlier pic of the HDD Flame is disappointing to say the least, the video should capture its true essense

Ok enough gibber gabber, here is the COMPLETED PRODUCT.

It appears somewhat dusty in these pics, but thats just because the flash is super bright, its not really that dusty. Also, it looks MUCH better when running, which the two videos I will upload (hopefully tonight) will clearly show.

Try taking a video of that HD light while running HDtune or a defrag. Then we can see it better But looking haaawwt so far. Its amazing what people with the right eye can do with a garbage case.

Thats a great idea, but the problem with that suggestion is that im running Fedora Linux 11 and HDTune is not available on linux

Anybody have a suggestion of a HDD test software or similar that is available for linux?

Alternatively I could just SMB a file over to it from another computer via the LAN, its only 100mbit but it should still xfer at around 10-12m/sec since all my machines are gigabit ethernet ready with cat6 cables, I Just need a gigabit switch now :|

Well, after a couple hours reading the previous thread, I'm glad you've finished it, in good health. This case went through a major transformation, and it was awesome to follow... even if I just started as you finished.

I plan on checking out your other mods now, hoping for some more inspiration.
