@oliverw92: I would have to either make or buy stencils for each letter, and that means that the insides of the letters would have lines going to them, not floating lol. I am not good at stencil making, and getting that circle/octagon logo might be a real challenge for me.

@hitman1985: About the radiator, my plan is to have a top mounted double 140mm radiator for my CPU loop, then when I get more money and possible an HD5870, I will have a second loop with two 120mm radiators and a seperate pump. I was trying to decide between the Cosmos S, because it has room for a triple rad on top, or the Cosmos 1000, and ended up going with the dual 140mm one. It should be plenty. I hope it turns out as I had planned too!

Default Painting, Part I

Got all my Rust-oleum at Lowes a few days ago, but I had to make a few more trips to auto-zone to get enough to finish. **UPDATE** - I am a home depot guy but we just went to Lowes that one time. And auto-zone was closer than either of them.

Here is the front door, taped off so only the chrome bits are covered:

Primered:

Colored:

Here is that case after a couple coats of primer:

And a few coats of black, still drying:

Side panel, clean:

The side panel, primered:

4 Coats of flat black, dry:

Side plastic thing and CD Drive holders:

Colored:

Other side plastic thing:

Brackets and Screws, painted:

Hard Drive Handles and Cathode Switch Bracked Painted:

Hard Drive Drawers, painted:

After the things became dry to touch, I took them inside to dry on my ping pong table.

Here are the red accessories:

The hard drive drawers:

The Cathode switch bracket attached:

I couldn't wait any more, I wanted to see how everything would look together. I was very happy. (These pics are in the beginning).

I love how the Bloodrage reflects off the mirrored finish of the X3.
Thanks for subscribing! More to come.

Default Planning the Window

Now obviously I did this before I painted, but I think here is the best place to put it. I took a big piece of poster paper, cut it out to the side of my case, and mapped out a region that I could feasibly put a window. I didn't want to see the label on my PSU, so I put a few diagonal lines to cover it, and the opposite to the lines on the other corner to give it some sort of symmetry. Other than that, the window is as big as it can be, but it stops at the 5.25"/HDD bays. I don't really want to see those.

Here is the motherboard/PSU inside so I could plan efficiently:

And here is the shape I cut out:

And here is what it should look like when I make the cut. Enough to keep things visible, but still small enough to hide what I don't want to see:

As for the panel itself, I might attempt to make my window cut soon. I've removed the foam padding, and used goof-off to remove the adhesive. I need to clean it a little better with a 2nd bottle of goof-off I bought, and then I can draw in my cut lines and start hacking at it.

Panel with foam:

With goof-off:

Hey thanks Kevin I'm tryin hard. I will admit I thought that the Cosmos 1000 looked pretty goofy after I unboxed it. But I thought I could fix that.

Hey - you should add a "56k warning" in the title for this thread!

I have 256, and its taking me a lil while to load all these pictures.

I'm really enjoying viewing where it was coming from though - nice work.
