Default WC Antec 300 with 220 rad inside

Update 1: Preparation
Update 2: Parts Arrived/Assembly
Update 3: Finished installing loop and final shots.

The Plan

This is my work log of putting a water cooling kit inside of an Antec 300. I thought long and hard on if I wanted to get a new case or just stick with what I have. Here are the parts that I have coming (also have 5 Yate medium fans on the way).

I removed the HDD tray and made several holes for cable management. I also cut out a hole to where I can easily access the back plate for the cpu. It may seem like a lot of holes now but some of them are required to have all of the power supply cables fit behind the mobo tray as the little cubby hole that is usually used will be taken up by the 220 rad. I just have to wait for everything to arrive so I can do a test fit. Should be here in a day or 2.

I would of gotten a mcp355 or mcp655 pump. Enzotech Sapphire rev a is slightly cheaper than the ek. It is only 35 bucks at newegg. Good luck with the build my fiances rig is on hold for now

I went with the cpu block because after reading this thread I didn't see much in difference.

I also realize the pump isn't the greatest but all it will be cooling for now is a E5200. Later on I will upgrade if the need arises.

Are you going to paint the case?

I would suggest getting some rubber c-strip to go round the holes. Would look much better.

Finished up and filled. Just waiting on the fans.

Fans installed. 4 Yate Loon mediums in push/pull on the radiator. 1 as a rear exhaust fan.

I will be putting in a side window but that will come at a later time. For now I have the side panel off so I can easily view everything.
