Polymorphix_v2 - day 01 - prep for what's to come
yeah OK, today was my 40th b-day. My X sent some stuff from Jessie, and thats the only reason I am posting it. I got the coolest voicemail this morning on my phone that I saved and have to record. It was Jess singing happy birthday to me, and it was awesome. Anyway enough of that stuff... shop was stocked with some new stuff alu from mcmaster and metalsdepot. the long 8-footer thats bent is from mcmaster. the other is from metalsdepot.com, and some stuff I picked up at home depot couple of fat boys (1 mapp, 1 propane, and the coveted BZ8250 torch )trigger ignite, 5 foot hose tight ![]() mcmaster metal ![]() in all fairness UPS gorillas damaged it but if mcmaster packed like metalsdepot it wouldnt have happened metalsdepot packing so theres the arsenal ![]() the bent one is from mcmaster the mcmaster channel needed cutting cut 4 18" sections instead of 5, wonder why ![]() on the left is what they look like after cutting, the right is after I clean them up after all the cuts were clean I used a file to make sure they were all the right length in relation to each other. 18" all tested that the 1/4" x 1/4" and 1/4" x 1 slotted into the channel ok win wanted to test my new hosed torch so I set up another durafix can test popped a hole in a can with a screw driver and hammer set up brazed some durafix in the hole ![]() then, like when I first made the hole, I used the tools in the same exact way, but now it was against the brazed area... after a couple wacks with the hammer, the can base depressed a few more hard wacks and the can collapsed this stuff rocks my little braze-welding arsenal ![]() more tomr thanks for watching * This Worklog post was generated using WorklogCreator - Version: 1.0.1.6 * Free Download: http://www.mod2software.com/worklogc...logcreator.zip

sure, Durafix melts 200 degrees F lower than aluminum, but the key is you need to scuff the join areas with a stainless steel wirebrush first - stainless steel only
