Default Subtlety

I got my new case today and thought I'll try to make a build log. My goal is to have it look big and intimidating but clean and simple at the same time.
Mods will include:
Painted inside
Soundproofed
LEDs installed in the fans
Sleeved wires
Cutting for better air flow

Day1
UPS dropped off the case

Inside

Custom window thanks to the guys at Performance-PCs

Stripped out

Taped up to prevent the sexy finish from getting scratched

Popped the rivets

Cut a hole to fit an addition 140mm fan but I had to keep the hard drive rack mounting holes incase I need to use it in the future.

Lots of parts to paint

I don't know what I was thinking when I only bought one can of primer Ran out after not even 1 coat so I sat down to make this log and eat pie

While the second coat of primer was drying I started trying to make a molex pin remover for when I get around to sleeving. Here's what happened:

First attempt was with a small flat head screwdriver. Failed

Second attempt was with a piece of scrap metal from the case cutting. It worked but was hard to compress the pins.

Third attempt and mini DIY:

I got 2 bolts that were thick enough to fit over the pins and ground down the threads. I ground the threads enough so that they fit into the connector but didn't grind down to the shaft of the bolt. My make-shift grinding wheel:

(Here is where a vice would be helpful if you have one)
I don't have a vice so I used 1 drill to hold the bolt and another to actually drill into it.

The sizes I found to work are as follows:
For male pin: 3/32 drill bit
For the female end: 7/64 drill bit

Then test It sometimes takes a little jiggling but it works.

And now back to the case

First coat of the black

Are you gonna clear coat that?
If so, what kind? I did a nice satin finish to mine. Gives it enough shine to make it reflect, but it doesn't cause a giant blinding light to shoot at your face every time you throw some light in its direction.

Paint job looks good so far mate

Nice work. I'd love so see what you do with the cables. I love the sight of individually sleeved wires that are properly managed. Especially with different colors. I saw one sleeve job with black and white and it looked incredible.

Looking quite nice. Sub'd. I like the effort you went to with the molex pin remover. I just used a pin to push the tabs in.

No I won't be doing a clear coat, I prefer the matte finish. Regarding the sleeving, I will be doing it individually but am having a hard time coming up with what size sleeving. I know single wires are 1/8" but things like SATA cables and the USB cables are confusing me. Can anyone who has done point me in the right direction?
