The hard drive is right under the PCMCIA slot.
So it is part of the tray that comes out...

I taped it off and am going to go crazy!

This is really nice, my mom has a laptop just like that and my dad has 2 dells n there is 3 Desktops in my house, but I'm not allowed to do anything to them

Formed ol buddy... Don't paint those internals!!
If you want too lightly hand sand them. then spray your paint into a spray can top. Then use a paint brush to paint it. The same with the clear coat. I would highly recomend not spraying your drives
