This is a big build and is looking awsome...I wanted to build a similar rig as this. I think i might build the system to hold a few older mobos i have laying around until i get the money to buy a few cheap mobos and cpus and stuff...ur so insperational...u should be a motavational speeker.

If wood is not your thing youshould check out Burn's tech station build log...very techno and practical--a similar framework type techstation as that described RetroSpekt's FAQ would work great--if little fingers aren't a problem. Shawn McGrail suggested slotting the mobos like cards into the case which would work very well in a tech station type rig. There are a lot of ways to approach it. One way would be to make independent modules that could stack together as the rigs were assembled--alleviating the hassle of splitting PSU leads and wrestling with plugging, unplugging power cables to get at a particular board. For hardcore folders anything that makes the most of what you've got is the way to go....I happened to have some materials from a job and that's where Crunch got started. Try something out....

Everything has arrived--today--I fabbed the mobo bracketry, mounted the mobo, HDDs, and not having a power SW clipped the header off a PC mobo speaker, repinned it and hotwired the beast into life.
Crunch is Alive! Not having the manual I was guessing at which IDE headers to use and guessed right about the RAID ones--I took my old WD400 and paired it with the Samsung Spinpoint 40 gig that just arrived to see if I could find the RAID in BIOS...work in progress--will post massive picks of the FAb and install soon!

Kind of quirky mobo--needs to have an IDE HDD on Channel 0 master and a CD ROM on channel 0 slave, or if nothing Slave on 0 then master on 1. Nothing else works for installing 98, anyway. Excited about the onboard RAID controller, but as I need to have a HDD on 0 to install that leaves me one HDD short to do RAID--I could be missing something...never used a Giga board before--great BIOS layout--tons of features.
Anyway finally got it down to the SPinpoint and the CDROM and right now windows in formatting the HDD--about to put a never used 98SE I have had for years into action. Guess that will work for folding. Had to "rent" a PCI MX 4000 from Wally world just to get going. Will post back when Crunch is fully up and into the desktop!
