Default Painting my Case

i am thinking about painting the inside of my X Navigator black, i was wondering if anyone had any tips, or what kind of paint i would have to use..someone told me i might have to sand it to?

i would sand it if i were you. comes out cleaner in the end.... also might want to use primer...

sanding a steel surface is kind of pointless. Rub it down with a sponge or strong cloth with rubbing alcohol (to get rid of grease and dust). Use one coat of primer and two coats of whatever the finisher will be. make sure you use a metal paint. its a pretty simple process. Painting aluminum is trickier but steel is a piece of cake. check my rig gallery for results.

Spray a couple of layers of clearcoat over the final coat of color so it won't flake or scratch as easy when changing out hardware.

I thought about clearcoat when I did mine but its a lot more work (And takes awhile to dry as opposed to metal paint). Also, you get the stuff in screwholes and it can clog them up.
