How exactly do they work? I bought this UV cable but it doesn't have any glow/color to it. Isn't it suppose to emit light in a way?

You'll need a UV light to have the UV reactant cables or whatever shine in the dark. IMO, UV is kinda useless unless you have W/C with alot of UV reactant tubing. Those UV cables and slots don't light up much. I got a 15in UV cathode in my case and its nothing special.

They contain pigments that reflect ultra-violet light. If you don't have a UV light it just looks like a regular cable. The effect works best in the dark too.

Well i remember as a kid i could buy plastic (greenish) stars that you could stick to your ceiling or whatever and just with a little light it would glow. same princepal as the what some watches have. (Glow in the dark).
You don't need any blacklight for that but just some light, only with blacklight it does the job better. That i realised with my 1 m blacklight TL ![]()
