Well I now have all the parts bought and paid for to make this mod a reality (except the Raptor X HDDs
) but I had to make a number of changes due to the unavailability of some of the items around which I had originally started. For one the AC Ryan line of 5.25 bay resevoirs is almost completey sold out at all the AC Ryan vendors. The only ones available are red and green....I wanted clear or UV blue...so a little aesthetic finagling there ended up with an Alphacool Bullseye: ![]() I went for the POM constructed revision 2 even though it was a good bit more money because I have seen what happens to Anodized aluminum in a loop...not pretty. Aluminum in general is a bad thing in a loop with copper--disaster just waiting to happen. The Bullseye will mount in the upper portion of the 5.25 bay and will have one UV led lighting the Blue PrimoChill Coolant and three fittings for inlet outlet and fill. It will be more or less permanently mounted with no need to undo any fittings for maintenance because I will have a tee with a drain line. Once the Danger Den FilPorts are screwed shut the loop will be completely sealed and should not require any service for a very long time as the PrimoChill is meant to last basically forever. In the unlikely event of a leak the fluid is non conductive and should be easy to spot in a UV lit case since it glows like a highlighter on crack. I tried repeatedly to buy the SilenX fans I wanted ($58 for two fans ) but exKaliber PC has some sort of bizarre error with their server and it won't let me check out.The fans are absolutely the lowest dba for a 70+cfm fan and feature a very special blade and i was very keen to try them. But until I can figure out how to buy them (call on a landline prolly) I will be using the Blue LED TT thunderblades for the bottom two case fans. On the top of those fans will go the Dual ring UV CCL tubesand on the bottom will go the blue UV reactive filters.![]() Which should be an interesting lighting effect--I want the UV to help the interior pop out and I have a feeling the filters will make some nice "underbody" lighting effects. I resisted buyuing tones of sheathing and heatshrink at this point...although PerformancePCs.com has some Techflex Reflex sheathing that using a 3M reflective film woven into it that is 652 times more reflective than white...that would be pretty bright I imagine... Although I do not think this lower CFM fan is really up to the task it somehow ended up in my Shopping cart...I think Velocitor wanted some more jewelry... ![]() It uses POV (persistence of Vision) technology to have a realtime digital display of the temp and rpm....too bad it only pushes about 50cfm...and the display is on the intake side only--ideal for the sidepanel fan on Velocitor... So all in all a very expensive day but at least I now have the basics for getting the case into a more completed form. The Raptor X HDDs and the PSU are gonna set me back close to a grand when it's all said and done...including the AC Ryan EL wire SATA cables... So before I go there I want to get the actual case work done. For the time being I am not settled on whether or not I will have conventional fan controllers as I am planning on using a SW controlled device for that..ditto temp monitoring as I still have a wonderful Koolance temp monitoring device complete with flow meter that might end up in the loop depending on how crowded it all gets...ideally I would like to have all that piped to a smallish LCD monitor grafted onto the top of the case but I don't want to commit to that yet...I have a lot still to put together and once I see how it all looks I might very well make room for a small monitor up top. Although I am making small changes to colors and shapes and thematic elements I want to stick with the mechanical aspects I have already worked out as I feel they are already as good as it gets.

...This is gonna be so good....
Keep the updates rolling... erm, no pressure of course. Tell me what you think about those filters once you have them installed, please.

I actually have one of them in use at this moment--they are prolly the best least restrictive filter I have seen. And they come in clear and may other colors and UV reactive colors. The clear one I have now has a neat lensing effect when mounted over a LED fan--and I am counting on that for this mod and the Antec 900 mod (I bought 4 clear ones for the Antec to go on Red LED fans)--the fine metal mesh traps almost all the schmutze and dog hair and air very easy to clean.
