This summer I plan on a pretty sick case mod. I'll be getting this XClio case: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811103010

I then plan on getting 2 of these nearly silent 100+ CFM fans for the front and the side: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...9afef6f93fde45

Then, cut a blowhole for the fan from the top of an Antec 900: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...b216abfdd08461

And use this as a rear exhaust: http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=21136

I think this would be a nearly silent, amazingly air filled case. Anybody think this is a good idea, or do you think it's the dumbest thing ever?

One issue though, I can't find ANY fan filters or grills for a 200mm fan, so how do I keep things from falling into the case?

Thanks,
pow3rtr1p

Make one from wire mesh and some filter material.

One thing to remember... the more air you move, the louder it's going to be. Cable control will limit this effect some, but not completely.

I have a problem with the side intake fan`s proximity to the front inlet fan and the inner panel arrangement. It looks like they will fight each other and cause turbulence, which = noise and reduced airflow. Plus, the holes are too small in the inner panels, and would further restrict airflow. If I had this case I would move the side fan toward the middle of the case side, and cut out the inner panel(s). Then I would continue with your plan to install a blow hole in the top with the large exhaust fan, and get a speed controller to quiet things down while maintaining good airflow. Also, another exhaust fan at the rear of the case would be a good move. Coarse fan grills would have the least restriction, but inlet air filters would be helpful in controlling dust.

Seems like a good idea, but don't know if the performance benefit will be as big as those fans.
