Default Only ends of cold cathode tubes are lighting up???
Bought some 12: Vastech cold cathode flourescent light tubes where only about a 1/3 of each tube will light up. Did I hook something up wrong or are they just doa?

They're also supposed to be red... although the part that lights up looks a lot more orange...

can your PSU handle that many cathodes? maybe they aren't getting enough juice...

edit:... ahh, typo in my first post, sorry.... should say 12"...not as in 12 each. They come in pairs of 2 & I just have one pair.

i don't think there would be a power issue but you might try hooking just one up and seeing if it lights up fully.

If the cathode is not lighting up entirely then either they are not getting enough juice or the inverter is bad. Either way I would send them back, they should not act like that brand new.
