I picked up the Lian-Li PC2100 for a server case and have placed two Xeon's, 4x1GB Corsair DDR2 sticks, a RAID controller, 5 Seagate Perps and I'm afraid of the heat issue. I've got the 2x120mm fans (one intake and one outflow) and I'm planning on putting in 2x80mm fans next to the PSU. I'll post pictures (hopefully correctly, but I'll edit so that I don't get flamed for it) so that it hopefully makes more sense. I'd like to put in atleast one 120mm fan on the side (possibly/probably two or three), but I'm not quite sure whether to make them intakes or exhausts, and the location to place them. I know you guys always have outstanding advice, so I figured who better to turn to. Anyway, here are the thumbnails (I hope it works correctly) for the case setup I have right now.

1) Did your case come with a large blower fan? If so, attach that on the grill above the rear I/O ports. This addition to your exhaust is needed. If not, you can get one for $30 off ebay.

Air from this fan, and the current intake fan, will make it's way to the PSU, at around double the speed than currently. 3) Put 2 8cm fans directly above the CPU. But, line them up so they do not blow any air onto the little column that helps support PCI cards; that would be wasted airflow. You could instead use 12cm fans, but remember to manually drop their speed, so the amount of air moved is equal to how much 2 80mm fans would push. We want to match the amount of air entering the case to the amount leaving the case. ![]()

Almighty, I didn't get the exhaust fan because I could get this model for 50 dollars cheaper, and figured I could find an exhaust fan on the Egg for cheap, but I'll check out Ebay. As for the 80mm idea, I was wondering if adding two 120mm fans, one over the HDD, and one over the proc area, would allow 2x80mm over the PSU. If it's not prudent, hey, you guys are the experts, so I'll see what I can do. Also, please excuse the cable management, I haven't zip-tied them yet because I haven't finished installing and configuring Win SBS 2K3 yet.

Oh, ha, didn't see the 2 grills right above the PSU. I think they're 80mm fans. So, get 2 80mm fans on those grills, blowing out of the case.
__________________So... 80mm fan blowing onto the harddrives. 2 80mm fans above the PSU, blowing out. 1 120mm fan blowing onto the processors. Also, about the blower fan, don't bother. You actually have a hole in the corner of your side panel, allowing a 120 mm fan to blow out. So, get a 120mm fan blowing out of the case through the hole in the side panel. EDIT: Just realised, you have more exhaust than intake. So, instead of 1 120mm fan blowing on the processors, have 2 (one on top of the other). Like so: ![]()
