Angry Krylon Paint Did something to me...

Hey, well I'm painting a case of mine... I did everything properly.

Lightly scratched the thing with a Scuff thinger.
Wiped it with Paint Thinner.
2 Coats of primer
2 Coats of base

But when I do the clear coat it flakes. It looks like its cracked... I dont need that... I'm using Krylon Primer, Base and Crystal Clear coat. Whats going on here?

How To's

Surface Preparation
The most important step to surface preparation is to be sure that the surface is clean and dry. Ordinary household detergent or mineral spirits usually do the job.

When working with wood
Sand smooth with medium to fine grain sandpaper. Wipe clean with a tack cloth to remove dust. Spray with primer to hide wood grain if desired.

When working with metal
Remove loose rust with a wire brush, sandpaper or chemical rust remover. Remove oil with a degreaser or denatured alcohol. Prime surface to protect against rust and corrosion.

When working with glass or ceramic
Lightly sand with fine grain sandpaper so that surface will not be slick - this allows paint to adhere better. Wipe clean.

Is the case plastic? If so that is probably why this is happening. There is no How To for painting on plastic on their site. Which leads me to believe that is why your paint is flaking.

It is most definitely the plastic, buy some paint that is designed to be used on plastic surfaces.

2 Coats of primer, sanded both, 3 coats of base, and tried clear. It was about 6-1 day of wait time between each coat.... So I dunno what went wrong...

You probably need an epoxy primer for plastic.
