I'm looking to polish the interior of my case and was wondering if anyone had any great resources to point me to. I remembered reading something about oven cleaner...? What's that all about?

If you use a paint thinner and remove all the crap from the metal and then use some sandpaper (yup) and add a grain to the metal all in one direction. Then some special finishing wool made for blending in the grain you'd end up with a very pretty mellow grain to your metal. We did that in the steel workshop I worked in during my summers at Uni. It was a technique used for hand rails and stainless steel counter tops. Really looked nice.

Works wonders on shinning up metal, however you will need to sand off the protective paint and seal it afterwards.

Paint thinner to get rid of all the paint, then start on a low grit and work upwards if you want a mirror finish

Check around for a powder coater, some custom auto resto/ hot rod shops do it.
It's very durable and there are some silvers that are outstanding and shine like glass!
