Well, i'm going to attempt to build a Lexan case over the summer, so i need to start somewhere, right? So this is going to be the thread that will eventually chronicle my journey.

For now, post your ideas here as to what you think would look good, especially the placement of the drive bays, the orientation of the mobo, etc...because i'm totally open to ideas, and this is going to be my little pet project...so, i'm drafting some ideas for the front panel up on paper right now, i'll put it into paint later. Keep in mind that it will need to accomodate watercooling w/ a place for the heatercore to blow air out of, i have some ideas now, and i'll post them over the weekend when i can have some time to myself.

So for now, post some ideas!

make a nice mesh opening at the bottom of the front of the case for a 120mm fan

also, id attach the heatercore to the top of the case (cut a rectangle) and have some 120mm's blowing upwards on the bottom of the heatercore, sucking air out of the case

hmm, i'd give room for 2 rear exhaust fans.. and put the mobo around 6 inches off the bottom of the case so u can fit your pump and stuff nicely..

also, dont include floppy bays at all to save room

ill think of more lol

I like your ideas though, i'll take them into account.

i still use floppies to x-fer files over to my old comp, it's aging...however, i think i may exclude it, and plug it in when i need to, i think it'll tidy up the case much more.

looking good, keep the ideas flowing!

Reason for clearwater op name: clear (case = LExan) water=...well...

no they're great, Nortons ghost, or if you use a beta OS and have your primary hard drive on raid such as SATA you need them for a boot disk, but really for ghost.

i wish my tower didnt have floppy spots, i took the cage out and use that spot to store wires lol, same with my two bottom optical drive spots...

it'd be cool to make like a seperate little box along the bottom of the case and throw some striplights in there so they arent touchable, theyre out of the way, but still have the same effect.. hmm..

i'd save like 5 inches ABOVE the the PSU for an exhaust fan.. or two, 2 80mm's side by side.

i dunno.. ohh.. the side door could be on a hinge so it opens like a door!, that'd rock
