well isn't a car switch just a spst switch with a spring to kick it back? if you can find the contacts i dont see why not.
i'm actually wiring a keylock onto my external w/c box's power switch so it doesn't turn off unless i want it to.

all newer car switches aren't really switches (no electronics) they are just actutators that control the buried switch with a pushrod, you could get one of the older type (universal) which will work a or a lawnmower switch, hook 1 wire to the starter terminal the other to ground Viola!
