I have noticed that my CCL's can brighten over time...its hit or miss though. 1 tube I have got pretty darn bright (almost white) while the other is still a darker blue...
It comes down to the ballast that is running the light, some ballasts are weaker than others, just like a flourescent light fixture (4' tube lights, etc) getting brighter over time, etc. I would think that the CCL's getting brighter is a bad thing as its showing the ballast controller is getting weaker.

I know when u first turn them on they do get brighter as they warm up. This only spans the first 5-10 min. after u turn them on, though.
But i would think they get lamer as they age 'cause the phosphors wear out.

Just when I first turn them on, it seems like my UV water and UV stuff is kinda dim, then after a few minutes, its all bright and pretty much a solid color

I haven't noticed any change in UV cold cathodes. I wish they were brighter though, that would be nice.

Yeah I read that the Vantec UV lights are way brighter than mine. I have 2 Cool Master 12" Cold cathodes and they're barely cutting it. The Vantecs are hard to find but somebody has them and said they were bright as hell.

I have 2 UV and 2 Blue CCFLs. My case is very well lit. All of the UV stuff is pretty nicely lit.

I have 2 blue cathodes in my second case, seem to be getting darker. However the 4 UV neons in my comp in my sig seem to be causing a brighter UV reaction.
