Default Moving PSU Location

I was wondering if anyone has had the idea of moving their standard ATX PSU location from the top to the bottm like they have in many newer cases like the Antec 900 and p180. Was thinking you could use the dremel and cut off the portion of the back where the PSU resides move it to the bottom of where the MB is and weld it there. I am sure there would have to be more involved, but was hoping I could get some experienced modders to comment on this and help me figure out the best way to do it.

It depends on the case and how the motherboard tray is mounted. Post a pic and we'll suggest how. Why do you want to move it?

Unless you can get ahold of the right type of welder, you won't be welding aluminum very easily.

Also, it would involve a lot more than suspected. It may be do able, but make sure all of your bases are covered. Depending on the case, it may be able to be none easily.

Honestly it's going to be difficult if you don't have a specific case for it due to the form factor.

Say if you had a oversized graphics card... it wouldn't fit due to your PSU

Make sure you sandpaper the hole, and then put some U rubber over it to avoid sharp edges. Put some grease around the newly drilled hole, and then screw your computer, screw it hard. Maybe install some UV lights and turn em up to indicate that your computer is also excited.

Indeed, you could just cheat like some of us and go buy one of the Antec cases that has it on the bottom anyway.

If you have a case in mind, post it. But, like gonXinator said, if you move the mobo too far up, then it would most likely conflict with the 5.25" bays. Now if you tried this with a Full Tower case, you'd probably get away with it, pending on the overall case's frame structure.
