Im modding an old compaq sever case for my gaming rig. I just got my black n decker rotary tool with all its little gadgets . When i tried to cut some of the insides of the case, the dremel cutting bits would shrink to nothing in 2 secs and break and a bunch of crap! I dont kno if the case is made out of steel or the cutting bits are crap

You need to get the reinforced cut-off wheels. The standard ones are really cheap and will wear away very quickly. These are fiberglass reinforced and will take longer to wear down. In addition, it is important to go slow and don't use too much downward force. It will cause faster premature wearing of the wheel. Let it go a bit at a time.

Definitely. Since it's a server case, it's probably a lot thicker than the average case that gets modded, as you've probably noticed with the speed of your current cutting wheel demise!
