Well from the standpoint of a real case modder like Bill Owen this would be a joke...

Likewise from the standpoint of a real painter like The Duke this would be a joke...he would probably barf all over it if he saw that on a car...lol

To reach "Hot Rod" paint quality with a stripe there is a lot more work.

The low areas need to be filled so that the strip is the same level as the surrounding paint. Think about that for a moment...that's a lot of work...the stripes also do not have perfectly clean edges...there are some tricks to getting those edges that I did not want to fool with...like the fill to make the surface flat...

Ideally the stripes should be seamless and look like they are pooled glass...the whole surface should have a single gloss like a mirror...which obviously is not the case--as the case paint is matte.

Appreciate the compliment but I must set the bar higher and higher or else it just gets boring.

When I get the shop completed I will try my hand with a real spray gun and automotive paints and learn more about how the "Pros" do it.

true so true there is a lot that goes into a quality paint job sanding leveling a whole whack of stuff if you want to stripe it and get it to the point of where it is a true hot rod quality paint job
but i have to say that that mod i thought hot rod the second i saw the thing poping out the top then as i searched i seen it lighted up in blue but if it is just the paint job that makes it not hot rod quality then i dont know what to say you got me but the mod still screams hot rod computin'
just a note ive seen many a spray gun fly because of a mucked up stripe and a bad spray
least you wernt pin striping it that needs a hand like a rock
