Talking How To: Lay Down A Stripe or Two

LAN Dream needed some more detail so I laid down a stripe under the aircleaner...here's the pictorial.

I used the blue tape as a guide for the green-chemical resistant tape

Wiped the fingerprints and smudges off from the tapework.

Laid down the Ground Coat for the MetalCast Candy.

Here's what one coat of the candy blue looks like.

here's hopw Metalcast looks right after it is sprayed: Not at all sparkly or translucent..

That's what the Candy cans look like.

Baking at 175 for about ten minutes really brings out the sparkle and it's ready for color.

Action shots of the application...just mist the color on and watch it fill...leep moving at all times...

That is how the paint looks after it dries: sparkle.

Two Coats down.

Although not Hot Rod quality it still looks pretty neat and will add a unifying theme to the overall case.

Hope that helps you lay down a stripe or other graphic...

Do you really have to bake the paint? or does that just speed it up a lot? and is it safe?

No you don't--it speeds it up--but you gotta be careful or it will mess it up too.

I leave the door open and only leave it in about ten min at the lowet temp...when I am in a hurry.
