Going Broke Overclocking

Humidity can be a problem... mostly for laquer based paints, less so for enamel and urethane based products.

It is a work in progress....trust me
Getting the results that look good and feel good and have some durability is not that easy. ANd touching up is not a walk in the park--but more like starting from the beginning. There are some great guides to painting on OverClock...SpookedJunglist has one that is prey much definitive and a recent thread on it had some great input from "real" painters. Until I can get a controlled environment I will be fighting an uphill batle--which is why I am sticking to smaller parts...getting a killer metallic fade on a panel is not nearly as easy as giving a front frame a squirt. Today it is raining...the porch is jammed with stuff...and with no shop I am sunk...no more inside work. But I did managed to get three cases started/they have a ways to go for sure. I assembled the green one to try out some parts and see how it looks...and need to do some MAJOR work on the plumbing to get it all to work out right. But aesthetically I was intrigued... ![]() ![]()

Did you primer the parts first? I haven't done a lot of plastic painting either, I know in auto repair they use what's called a "primer sealer" to make a layer between the primered substrate (surface) and the base coat to keep anything from leeching through.....but they do that on all surfaces. Looks very "Pimp My Ride" there CD
