i actually placed it there myself. i had to remove a piece of the case and i was able to fit a 120mm fan down there. otherwise only a 10cm/100mm fan will fit down there without removing that piece. it is easy to remove, just pop out the rivets with a flat head screwdriver.
edit: i have a picture of the piece i am referring to in post #10. it is the piece that the fan is wedged in to.

i got 4 tri cool red led fans. Wow, am i disappointed. First i broke the switch holder. Although i had no choice because it will not fit back in. And to top it off the red leds aren't that bright and then i put one fan in backwards so many damn times.

lol. i have one red one too along with the 3 black ones it came with. i havent had any problems with any of them after a year. mine is actually pretty bright. do you have a window in your side panel. that is the only reason why i didnt get LED fans, no window to see them

Winner! *edit Oh wait, I notice that there is a grip of other pink stuff in the room...so either you really really like pink or theres something not quite right with the picture. I hope its just a pink fan. I'd rock pink fans if I could get decent ones lol.

Hi everyone. I hope I'm not hijacking anyone's thread, but I found this thread while doing a Google search on case/cable modding and would like to ask a couple questions.
__________________I bought my Ulra m998 case based on some impressive reviews and I must say I'm 100% satisfied. I've never owned a case with a window before so it's a whole new experience for me. I find myself looking at it often and as such this has led me to contemplate a better arrangement of the cables inside. To help with this task I ordered some fan extensions, a Sunbeam multi-fan port (for plugging in all my fans), and a cable sleeving kit. The case came with two 120mm fans - one in the rear and one in front. I have a 120mm Scythe mounted to my Ultra120E and my PCP&C Silencer 610 has an exhaust fan in the front and some ventilation holes in the back, but there is no other ventilation in the top of the case. Would love to be able to order just the fan off this ZEROtherm Nirvana NV120. I think this would look sweet on my Ultra120E. Unfortunately you have to buy the HS to get the fan. I'm seriously considering modding a couple exhuast holes in the top of the case for more ventilation. I could drop in two 80mm fans or a single 120mm, haven't decided yet. For aesthetics I could install some slick fan guards such as these pictured here (in black, of course). Anyone have any advice on a project like this? Will I need a hole saw or can it be done by another means? Since there's a ton of room in the top section of the case I'm thinking of dropping in a 120mm fan there as well (right behind the PSU). Before I do all this I want to make sure I'm placing these fans in the correct orientation to best facilitate airflow throughout the case. Has anyone got any advice in this regard? Thanks.

2 80mm fans will be louder than a single 120mm fan. i would cut out one exhaust hole on the top of your case for a 120mm fan. i think a hole saw would be the easiest way. if you can find a 12cm hole saw that would be ideal. or if you think you have a really steady hand you try a dremel or jigsaw. im not sure a jigsaw can cut circles that great but im sure it can be done.
as for locations of a fan placement, i would look at other cases and see how the fans are placed throughout the case. for the p180 there is a top exhaust and a rear exhaust. for your case it soudns like your psu is on the top of your case, so you would have to cut out an area that wont be blocked by the psu. on the side panel there is a fan duct. you may be able to take it off and put a fan on there and use it as an intake for the cpu cooler. is there a fan for the front panel at the bottom?
