Case Modder

Hey everyone, Yesterday I headed over to Radioshack to check out their computer department. Its all thermaltake. I noticed the lights and cable sleeving and decided to get it. To my luck, I picked up the wrong lights (UV not blue) and one was also dead. Went back and got the blue ones and started sleeving all the wires on my powersupply. After that, I noticed I had some extra so I sleeved some of the small wires together in my case like HDD LED, Power Switch, etc. Then I decided to save some space and folled this form here and it turned out great. After I finished the sleeving, I started with the lights. I used scotch tape to figure out where I wanted to place them first. Its a small case so I only had one spot for a light. This kit came with two. I sat there for a few minutes and it came to me. So I took off the from panel and wired the light through the front. I remembered that my case has slots in the front of it for air intake. I stuck it in there and it fit perfectly. Pictures are provided below. The motherboard you see is my old one holding my dual-core CPU. My A8N32-SLI Deluxe is being repaired at the moment.

Nice job, I sleeved my PSU once and it took me like 4 hours.
Never again ![]() But you are aware if you do that with a IDE cable that it actually slows down the cables speed. Atleast thats what I have been told. I've never seen proof of it.

For the extreme light modding, go with DIY real time ambient light from http://www.a-r-e.nl
Latest release also includes heat, fire and smoke recognition for 3D games. Effects can be sent out to standard DMX hardware. |

Hey everyone, after installing my new lights and sleeveing my power supply, I decided to hook up my old motherboard since I am currently waiting on my new one to be repaired. I tried some cable management and I think I did well. To my surprise, I didn’t have to reformat my hard drive. I am glad because I would have lost all my files. Didn’t feel like backing it up.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This morning I remembered that I had two pages of model decals from a model jet that I never built. I used some on my case. I have decided to change the name of my machine from Performance Dreamer to “Blue Diamond.” It looks so cool with the blue light coming out from the bottom grill of my case. The decals on the top represent the air intake and the front right of the case are for the CD drive. I am going to be replacing the power button with a cool one. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Can you turn your cathode blue light off without turning your computer off?
