Default Record cutting out panels (REQUEST)

I have tried cutting out a side panel with a jugsaw, and it was somewhat successful leaving me with a bit crooked cutout. I believe it will look better when I get molding. Btw the side panel was an aluminum sheet with plastic.

Which leads me to my final request. Next time anybody is going to cut or drill a hole in a side panel, or the case, please make a quality video of the process. I will take the time to make a FAQ, and learn the process of it myself. Please list the tools, brand possibly and the prices of them, as well as where they can be obtained while you are at it.

This goes to any case moder out there. Pre-made videos are also welcome, but make sure to accredit the author and website the video was obtained, as well an optional permission to use the video.

I have searched the utubz for one, the Overclock.net inter-netz-o' doom, but I have'nt come up with a neat video of the process.

This is the 1st step for a novice case moder, and as a new step I want to help everybody and myself to provide a FAQ to this gate arch of a new hobby.

Thank you in advance !

I have an old computer case.. maybe If I get bored I'll pull out the DREMEL and carve a hole in it.

By the way.. Using a large jigsaw (like I did on my first case mod), like the kind of jigsaw that we used to cut some wood up when we built our deck.. Yea.. It will tear metal up. If you use a jig saw, you need to make sure whatever part you are working on of the case, you need to have it secured and held down. That jigsaw can kick some serious a$$.

But do yourself a favor. Get a rotary cutting tool. You can put all kinds of neat bits on there for any kind of cut.

I agree--that would make a great guide and a valuable resource for the Forum.

I just cut out the bottom of my g5 case. Drats. But yes, Jig-Saw is too unwieldy, DREMEL is the way to go. Just buy ALOT ALOT ALOT of cutting discs.
