Default HD Audio or AC'97???

I'm building my new rig and have a question regarding the audio cable that comes attached to the Antec 900.

Do I connect the HD Audio or the AC'97 end to my mobo (EVGA nforce 680i)???

Not really sure what the difference is between the two?

I'm also installing the XtremeGamer Pro.

Cheers.
Anders

Plug in what ever your motherboard has.

Look in the manual for your mobo and it will tell you.

This is what the manual for my mobo says:

Quote:
The audio connector supports HD audio standard and provides two kinds of audio output choices: the Front Audio, the Rear Audio. The front Audio supports re-tasking function.
The only idea this gives me is to plug in the HD Audio end but I'm not sure I'm interpreting it correctly???

If you're installing a sound card, disable the onboard sound in your BIOS, and then plug your speakers/headset into the jacks on the sound card.

I was planning on buying that card, but I would take a look at this card.Auzen X-Fi Prelude Sound CardThis uses the same technology as Creative but I also works with vista and may be better than the one you have chosen.

Sledgehammer, I have just updated my signature, which will tell you that I have already bought the sound card I referred to ..... but I appreciate the 'heads up' though - glad to hear you're happy with yours.
