So, i got all my WC stuff, and began clearing all the extra junk case makers decide to jam all cases with, but its really not enough space for the heater core.
so i need to not only remove the hard drive enclosure, but take off the bottom cd bay too. its not a big deal, i have like 5 bays and only use 1 so i'm not worried about that. The problem is that I have nowhere to mount my hard drive. I only use one, and i'd like to put it in a cd bay. any advice?

There are plenty of HD adapters to fit in the 5.25" bays... choose:

I'd like to do it myself, for two reasons.
1. saves money 2. i don't have to wait for it in the mail I'm thinking about cutting up the hdd enclosure and sticking that in the bay. Has anyone done that?

maybe "enclosure" is the wrong word. I meant the metal case that comes with your pc, with about 4 HD slots, and which is typically easily removable. Thats what I'm thinking of using.
btw, thanks for the link, if I give up, i'll check that out. *edit http://www.silentpcreview.com/article8-page2.html this is about suspending your hardrive in elastic to make it noiseless. It may work for me!

ok, so I took two shoelaces and ran them through the top drive bay, and used 'em to hold in my hard drive. It works, its the same pc i'm on now! I also removed the bottom 5 1/2. I had a scare, with the dremel because me, being lazy left the mobo and everything in and sparks SHOWERED the ram and cpu. I freaked out!
SO i changed tacks, and used a wiss, which i strongly recomend. It's like scissors, but for metal! thanks dr4gon for posting. lata

BTW... with shoe laces or elastics, make sure it doesn't droop over time. You don't want a HD PCB touching metal. Also, becareful moving your case.
