Default Build Case from Scratch?

I see a lot of threads about having a spefic case, then modding it... but I was wondering if there are ways to build a case yourself. Are there places to buy internal bay mounts, mobo trays or anything like that? I'm playing around with the idea to build a case from common materials. Is it possible? Has it been done? Show me Thanks!

It can be done. It will be alot of work though. Look work logs from cyberdruid. He built himself a custom case that housed separate MB's in it. He also would be the guy to talk to on where to start and to get advice from.

Get hold of a old case and use hd bays etc. Or use them as a template. No use inventing the wheel again.

It is possible... but to get to the build quality of something like Lian Li or Silverstone... you need skills and the right tools. iandh works in a machine shop... he should be able to make his own case.

Check this custom case at bit-tech: http://www.bit-tech.net/modding/2007...month_august/4

Buy a motherboard tray like a Lian Li Mobo Tray or something of the like and then build the rest of it as you wish. Thats the most custom way I can think of. Or you can get a DIY acrylic case.

It is very tempting to think about.. but you need to know what your doing. CD and many others have been modding for awhile now to say the least.... not to discourage you but don't want you throwing your money away and not finish a project..
