Default I'm sick of noisy case fans!

I literally get headaches from the noise my current case fans make. I've bought and tried tons of fans with a plethora of different ratings and I have yet to find the one that suits me best.

I'm looking for the closest thing to silence that I can get and at a good price. Along with silence and price, I still want something that will push a good amount of air so my temps stay down.

So far I think my best bet is to go with these Yate Loons.

Suggestions? Reviews? Anything helpful at all?

istead of wasting all that money on air fans your way better off saving for water cooling kit. it will run you some more money but it is ahonstly worth it. by far way better temps and very quiet. you cant go wrong with it.

How about a fan controller, then you can find the fan you like that is loud and moves a lot of air, then just tone it down a little bit, so the loundess is not so, um, loud.

I've never owned yates, but I do hear lots of good things about them. A fan controller is another good suggestion. I've heard that the antec tri speed fans that come with the p182 are decent. If you want something better you'll probably have to spend more money. Have you considered noctua fans? I hear they are some of the quietest. You might also want to check out silentpcreview.com. As the name suggests, they're really into quiet. Good luck, hope that helps

I have one of those yates, they are pretty much silent. I'd opt for a Sunbeam Rheobus, though. I'll never have a PC without a fan controller ever again.

Also comes in silver

yates are fun
i use the 8 ds12h's (88 cfm/36 dba), but they're on a fan controller.
at 7v i can't hear them over my PSU fan giving a slight whine

but i'd just get a fan controller. 4 Logisys 120mm's on fan controllers aren't loud at all ~7v. heck with 12 fans running at ~7v the noise isn't pronounced enough to really notice. and you can always stick them up to normal 12v with a controller when you need them (gaming/benching)

edit------------
i second the Sunbeam. 20w a channel, 1.67 amp output (max total). can handle pretty much whatever you want (within reason)

i've got 2

I have the D12SH's aswell, 3 of them on a rad running to one channel on my rheobus. On 7v (which is highest point of red LED) they are silent and still push some great air THROUGH my rad

The Rheobus is the nicest controller i've seen, capable of fully turning off your fans!

I love my Antec Tri-Speeds. $6.99 for built in controller that allows you to adjust it high, medium and low. I can attest that the low mode is actually darn near silent with decent airflow, with the medium being a bit noisier but still fairly quiet. I use mine on low and case temps go up by about a degree vs. medium/high.
