just squeese the sleaving material to get it over the connector.

ok. what about for the heatshrink though? i have 1/2" and 1/4" heatshrink. i dont think either will fit over the connector.

does it matter if i mix up the black wires of a P3 connector, cuz i forgot to lable them

but having a 12v going into a 5v ground just doensn't seem right to me

I do not think that the position of the black wires matter. I could be wrong, but I think they are interchangable. Just as long as the other two wires are in the right spots.

Hmm..It might just be me, but is there a reason why it still looks kind of tangled/messy? I dont see much of a difference in that, and just coiling the wires together. I dont know.
