Default Cable managment mod *pics*

Hey guys,
I just completed a cable managment mod for all the cables coming out the back of my computer (mouse, keyboard, speakers, etc..)

My cables where an absolute mess (i lost the good picture of this. But we all know exactly what it can get like behind a computer, cords all tangled up, everytime you pull on your mouse you rip out your power plug or something. Anyway, these were the main cables i had to deal with, and they've been untangled alot!

What i did was go down to the local hardware store, and in the garden section found some nice sized corrugated tubing. This bundle cost me $25, and i used maybe a tenth of it.

I cut off the length that i needed, and using a stanley knife, i cut a split down the centre. This mod can be done without splitting it, but it makes it so much easier. Here you can see a cable being put into the split that was made.

I then threaded all my cables this way, and placed the top of the tube in the hole i have in my desk, then plugged in all the cords again.

Sorry about the after pic, as it doesn't really show how much it improved the look. But it does make a huge difference. I might spray paint the tube when i have some time, i might even dowse it in UV paint and wrap some EL wire around it.

Anyway this was a really helpful mod for me and has made my room look that much cleaner. I've got a few ideas that i might use for this mod to make it a bit better, but i've got some experimenting to do first.
Anyway guys, it'd be good to hear some feedback and if anyone else tries it, send in some pics

Thanks,
Chif

That looks awesome! I just zip tied all my wires to my desk, lol. I think I may have to go buy me some of that stuff so I can stop wasting zip ties, lol.

hehe thanks, yeah i was thinking about zip ties, but it still looks a bit ugly. If you already have all your cables zip tied though, this would be really easy, just cut down the centre, then wrap it around your pre-bundled cables, if you know what i mean and thanks for the cookie

Looks sweet. Im almost wireless myself so I'm lucky, lol. Wireless internet from my router, wireless keyboard and mouse. All I have really is the monitor plug, PSU plug and the speakers. That looks nice though. Did your desk already have the hole in it or did you drill it?

That's a pretty sick idea, I'll have way too much clutter behind my desk.
