Lightbulb Akasa Zen PC Case - Give Me Some Modding Ideas

Hi All,
I hope to be buying an akasa zen case to do some mods on
Its the most expensive case i've ever bought at £26 ($50), lol.
For some pics and stuff about the zen Click Here

I like the case because it is understated
I would get the black version, The main feature of the zen series is the clear plastic bezel, I think this could make some awesome mods possible, but my imagination isn't the best, so i'll ask you guys what you would do.

I though of painting the plastic bezel on the inside (no clear cote required ) as well as perhaps lighting it up (no idea what sort of lighting to use)

I also plan on cutting a window, but am terrified of cutting a perfectly good case.

Look forward to your suggestions, which, of course will be rewarded
Cheers,
Coffeejunky

You have a nice plain case there that could be turned into something nice

First lets start with the left side panel:

-> Cut a diamond shape and place a piece of perspex
-> Buy some neon tubes and place them all round (green would be OK IMO)

Right side panel:

-> Engrave 'coffeejunky' diagonaly and place a piece of coloured paprer so that it would be seen

Front:

-> Try and paint the OCN flame.

Lastly, you could then paint all the outside of the case in Piano Black and it would be a 100% kick@ss product

Thanks for the ideas
I wish my skills covered such things
I think the window will have to be rectangular
And painting things by hand for me would result in a disaster as I can't paint anything unless it involves a spray-can on a large surface area. I'm not remotely artistic, thats what worries me.
Some nice ideas though.
Any more suggestions from others?

Well, what you could do, a diamond is a kin of rectangle, so twist the side until it would be kind of a diamond and then cut a rectangle.

With the right hand side, instead of you having to cut the 'cofffeejunky', stencil it and also with the front, stencil it and then spray it.

Attached you have a kind of kick-start. Hope you find them of help. You could print them and then cut the inside and use them as a stencil.

Edit: The OCN flame was taken from here

I'd personally mount some blue led's in the clear bezel if it can be removed...maybe 10-12 leds.

I'd cut an L shape window in the side using some clear perspex and then mount a couple of blue cold cathodes inside the case with maybe a couple of blue led fans.

You could maybe stealth some drives too, which isn't too hard

Definately stealth the drives, this case would be perfect for it. I'd go for a very neat looking case. I'd use tinted perspex with your case lighted up red. I like the idea of coffeejunkey on the other side. However keep the front looking nice, clean and stealthy.
