Buff it with a wheel buffer on a drillpress or handheld.

For the lighter approach, you really must keep the flame away from the edge, and slowly approach the flame to the sheet until the acrylic just starts to turn clear/melt/get glossy, then start moving on down the edge.

I usually sand it with a block and paper on up to at least 320 Then I run it on the wheel with white rouge.
You can also use a propane torch and once you get the hang of it that can work quite nicely. However it is also a lot eaier to ruin a piece with the torch. Another issue with the torched edge is the slightest bit of alcohol will cause the whole piece of acrylic to craze and fracture internally...until you witness it it's hard to believe...

Well, then I'd be unlucky. Course, I don't think I'm going to have a window in my case, so, doesn't matter in anyways....just, if i did have a window...I'd definitely want something different.

I think I have seen a picture of that internal cracking, I guess the lesson here is don't drink and flame.
