Well, you know those CD/DVD covers. I used one of those and cut the top part making it a tunnel and hot glued it to my fan. I had also placed a grill in front of it too. It makes a nice turbine with the CD/DVD covers. The 100 pack ones. If you have led, the led lights kind of travel through the plastic.

Haha I actually was trying that yesterday. Had one of those sitting on my desk and shoved it in there. Almost was an exact fit.

It fits on 120mm fans only. Well just the right fit with the circle. There will be a little gaps on each of the four sides though. You can always put something to cover her or hot glue that part too. Gives around 3mm for all four sides. Just like a circle in a box.
I used it before, and it works great. But from how you will be doing it, you might to cut the tubing even more. It does get pretty long. I was surprised how long it was when I tried on the case.

Maybe you could attempt something similar to my 5.25" mod? Check my sig.
All I did was cut a round hole the proper size to fit the fan, then drill some screw holes for the fan....and it looks pretty nice. It'll look nicer of course once I get a grill for it. Maybe worth a shot?

this is what i did.. i took a bunch of fans, i removed the blades/spindle thing and stacked the fans together creating a duck.. works great and very easy if u already got spare fans lying around... for mine.. i used some cheap $4 LED fans

the farthest right fan (silver one) is the only fan with blades... the 4 clear fans are used as a duct, i removed the blades and the spindle on those 4 fans so that they dont get in the way of air flow

A good mod, as a matter of fact, if the fan is placed halfway back away from the front grill, dust shouldn't accumulate on the screen as badly. I've done this to my sons recent build. Now, your next move should be to clean up the wiring, add a bent piece of thin sheet metal to aim the airblast onto the ram. Don't laugh, it works.
