I used my Dremel (like thing) to etch it and I think it looks pretty good. Hand hurts though.

Updated the images to be slightly better sized and added the watermark - more for comparison :P

You could take some Testors Model paint and carefully drip it into the engraving using a toothpick..it looks killer.

Testors model paint? Not something I've ever heard of - I am in the UK mind. It'd be awesome to colour it though... Definitely something I'll look into doing. I might check out other paints I can get locally suitable for use on that kind of thing.

Looks good although I can't help but think your pushing down way too hard, try doing it with less force on some scrap metal and see how that turns out.
