I have one 120mm intake fan on front
one 120mm exhaust fan on back psu fan sucking up, and psu fan exhaust out back and i am going to ad a 120mm exhaust fan to the top of the case i was wondering if it would be to my advantage to turn my rear exhaust fan around so it was sucking in right by my processor, and turning the rear psu fan around so it was blowing cool air over the innards, sending the air out right by the upper case exhaust fan. this would mean that all my fans were intake except for the upper fan. is this a good idea?

You want Krunk smash?

Also, it's always good to have the same or close to the same CFM coming in and going out of the case. Meaning, same number of fans in and out
Hope I helped ya.

Powder Coat Your Case

Nope--I think that will do 2 bad things--1)it will take the hotair from your PSU (which is a major heater) and pummel your cpu/mobo with it 2) it will create a static volume in the case because of the front and rear fans pushing at each opther so to speak--the only outlet would be the top--which, depending on it's location, might not have a clear draw on the air below--fans that push/pull need to be seperated as far as possible from each other or the air doesn't stayin the case long enough to pick up the heat.
It used to be that PSU all blew in--but that was before the big watts came along--extra watts mean extra heat--and that is why most PSUs blow out now adays. Since that is already one exhaust that pretty much forces you to use the rear fan as an exhaust to prevent cycling air from one fan to another without going through the case. Ditto on the top--it really should be an exhaust (heat rises) and most blowholes do little except keep hot air from collecting at the top of the case. The Front fan really needs to be an intake. If you want some intake air I would go with a side panel fan right over the CPU HS fan area to introduce outside air to the CPU--but if possible duct this intake so that it is jammed into the CPU HS and not cycled by the nearby PSU and exhaust fans...

![]() Uhh I think that would be a bad idea, for one your rear PSU fan if its blowing in is going to blow hot air in from the PSU. I think with just a top exhaust you're not going to get the hot air out of your case fast enough.

You want the rear fan as an exuaust. The top fan as an exhaust is good. Maybe add another side fan ( intake ) I always like to have a bit more air entering the case than leaving. I find the addition of a blowhole say 80mm with a chrome grille covering on the side of the case low down to the rear in front of the PCI slots, is always a good setup. This acts as a balance for the air in the case which addresses any pressure differences. Which in turn aids the airflow through the case. Obviously placement and number of fans and size etc. depends on your particular case application. cheers

hey thanks guys
reps for all here and here are pics of my case (I have the one with the window.) I was thinking an 80mm intake in the little area that's cut out of the window would look good. It has a tall, skinny vent on the back by the PCI cards, and I thought it would be cool to put 2x 40mm intake fans on that vent. thanks again
