I was thinking I would just take out all my components, take off the sides / Windows and all the panels, take it out to my friends house, spray paint it a few times, and let it sit.

from what I have been reading, take the parts out, scuff them up with some 400 grit sand paper, blow clean with some compressed air (I use a hi volume air matress filler pump - literally blows away the competition), wipe down with a tack cloth, prime with self etching primer (SEM brand is top stuff) - maybe two coats or more. Now paint.

theres good painting videos on mnpctech.com for painting plastic case fronts, metal panels etc etc.

i just done amy antec 900 monday, no primer, no wetsand or other stuff, just clean every part to paint and do it in a warm (21°c) and dry room, or outdoor, but watch the wind, caus it can blow so wast on fresh paint

here befor and after-
http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...is26/Cabla.jpg
http://i166.photobucket.com/albums/u...6/P1010944.jpg

I used flat black fast dry spray paint.

anyway, use the way you wish, but it's realy important that you let the paint dry! It's the KEY!

I wasnt referring to wet sanding, I said a bit of scuff sanding before you even prime, but thats up to you. good luck

actually, when it comes to the case interior parts, I dont know if the sanding is needed before priming - it absolutely is needed for exterior panels etc, but maybe just a good cleaning (blow out, alcohol wipe down, tack) is all thats needed.

can someone clarify if sanding/scuffing is needed for interior parts prior to priming?

If your interior is already on metal (no paint at all) you dont really need primer or sand, cause most of spray paint will stick on it. You can put a layer of primer, or put 3 layer of paint instand.

And it's not only for case, but for everything you want to paint!

so no sanding is ok, but a coat of primer on the bare metal innards wont hurt, correct?
