Default A simple case mod, I have never modded before BTW

I just had a simple enough question which I am sure someone here could help me out with. I plan on purchasing a case soon and was wondering what kind of black paint to use inside a case that will look completely flat and clean.

As you can tell I like the inside of my case to be a strong even matte finish black without all the silver innards of today's cases. Also as you can tell I have never modded in any way and a good recommendation would help me get this rolling.

The concern is mainly about getting good paint that wont melt away, or be dangerous for any of the parts. Thanks.

I have found the guides, sorry for the wasted post.

well there's plenty of paint guides here. but to be honest, when i did mine i just took some 200-grit sandpaper across as much of the chassis as i could, gave it a good wash and wipe down, and used 2 can's of Krylon black semi-gloss enamel. turned out well. it slightly reflects the lighting in my case which was my intent.

the inside's not too critical. most of the chassis ends up covered up so a few mistakes here and there won't amount to much.

also a tip: figure out which mounting holes your motherboard uses and stick some tape to cover them on both sides. just to keep good grounding which can possibly become a problem (although i have not experienced any)

OOPS QUESTION: I am only planning to paint the innards of my case, do I need to use sandpaper then or can I just paint?

Thanks for the absolute quick reply! I will take it to heart, and yes you are correct I have now found the guides (yeah weren't all that hard to find I know). Anyway I am looking there now, thanks again Firestorm.

A quick scrub and light sanding in the reachable areas then blow it off/clean the inside out. Then just paint to your hearts desire. Check the local hardware store and grab a generic can of flat black, you won't need anything special for the inside.

Excellent, thanks for the fast replies. Looking forward to picking out a nice one, had my eye on this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811226033

It is new but is based on the smilidon/raidmax design. It is heavier though and has the red colored fans I am going for. Painting the inside black may just look quite nice.

I am still looking at cases though, if anyone has info about this case or has some they know would look nice and clean once painted black inside feel free to shout it out. Thanks again.

I personally havent ever seen that one. And the pic is too dark/small for me to judge it,lol.
However, post up in this forum. Thats the main case forum. They can probably suggest one for you, and be more intimate with them as well. We just tear them apart here, lol

Thanks for the tips/help. Though one last question, and this one may apply here better then the first ones.

Any idea where to buy case window sides? Thanks again.
