I just got my NZXT ALPHA case, and the case power LED connector housing is a 2-pin. My abit IP35 Pro has one of those 3-pin connectors with one blank in the middle. SO i cant connect the PLED correctly. I was wondering if it was ok to strip the case's, 2-pin connector housing (the plastic part) without causing trouble. THat way, I can just replace the plastic housing with one-pin housings...

I think theres a tool to pop them out of the connector properly, or there is always "percussive maintenance"
![]() Its odd that the case came with the connector, with the 2 leads side by side. Most cases come with each lead on a single pin connector. Youre sure you have the right connectors headed for the right pin blocks? (no offense, just checking)

if you look at the connectors carefully, there should be a tab on one of the 4 sides of it. If you pull that tab upwards slightly with a knife or screwdriver or something (you can break it off if you don't mind throwing the connector away) the wire should slide out easily.

I usually just hack them to bits with pliers and add some blue-tack afterwards.

does this "pin" method hold true for 3-Pin fan connectors too?

ok, just to make sure, the housing serves no purpose other than ease of plugging them in right? theres no other extra resistors in there

No, it's just a way of connecting them.
