Default Grommets

One thing you can use for grommets on the edges is some vacuum hose from your local auto parts store. Just cut it down the middle, half way through.

Just a suggestion for those struggling with that poorly designed door.
I know this post is almost a year old, but I have this case and I'm being driven INSANE by that stupid door!!

Pogster: do you have a pic showing exactly what you mean? I'm not sure exactly what part to file. I would LOVE to be able to get my power cables behind that stinking door without having to buy a new case!!

Pogster's last post was almost a year ago as well. There are plenty of Cosmos owners out there, maybe start your own thread.

Oh crap, I didn't notice that!! I usually prefer to search out an existing thread first, so as not to pollute the boards, but I think I need to. This Cosmos case is awful for cable management and I need help!

I believe he was referring to the hooks (?) that hold the side panel in place (see image below). In the photo, I mark (in red) the part to file down.

Basically, filing them down allows the door to lock shut even when not flush with the case. I don't really like this.

What I've done in the past is to kneel along the top of the panel while the case is laying on its right side (the vga duct side). My weight gets the top of the panel down enough to catch these hooks and shut. Imagine trying to close a stuffed suitcase, and you'll know what I mean.

Note that it still can be tough. What you want to avoid is layering any cables that go across the vertical beam, and to keep the cables away from the upper portion of the vertical beam as much as possible.

PS: Don't mind the mess in the photo. No cable management until my Dremel kit arrives in the mail. That's next weekend's project. So excited!

theres another thread somewhere where I ended up cutting out part of the vertical beam which allows the right side panel to close perfectly, regardless of the wire bundle.

DigitalSmear: ahhhh, I see now! Thanks much! You sound like you know a lot about cable mgmt. I do not :

I ended up cutting out all the sound-deadening stuff on the mobo case wall. It made a HUGE difference (and was a huge PITA). I still might opt for a HAF932 just because of the much larger gap between the mobo tray and case wall. But I got my internals a bit more un-cluttered. Still looks like crap.

CattleRuster: yeah I read that thread. I think I +REPed you for it. That was a good read! Nice job! I have a Dremel here with a ton of bits and NO knowledge of how to use the thing.

Look man, you can do MUCH better than that with such a case...spend two, three hours working on cable management and you'll notice a huge difference.

If you have suggestions, let me know. I did spend hours on the mess, believe it or not. I just suck at running cable. Plus I find you just don't have many options for cable running with this case.
