Default Painting.

Ok so I'm completely new to case modding, and I guess I'll start somewhere easy, like painting the inside of my case, seeing as RAIDMAX apparently likes leaving the inside of their cases blank.
Anyways, do I just basically spray paint it over and over until the coats are even or what?
And what do you guys use to give your pieces that shiny look?

when you paint you need to consider how well you want it to turn out.

you can have an absolute ****ty finish that will force you to redo it by just simply rattle cannin' it.
using a rattle can, however, doesn't necessarily mean it will turn out bad. you need to prep the surface very well in which you are painting for a clean smooth finish. also, the brand matters when using spray paint. i use Duplicolor or Krylon for my duties. to prep surfaces, i use some pretty strong **** that you probably won't come in contact with. it's called MPK (Methyl Propyl Ketone) or Acetone.

to go really far into quality, you can primer everything before you paint it and get a nice even look and will last a very long time.

what makes things look "shiny" (i like to call it a gloss finish) depends on the paint you buy. you can buy a non-glare or matte finish paint which will give it a "dust" look or no reflection. paint with shiny finishes will say "gloss finish."

a VERY IMPORTANT part of painting is how you do it. test your painting skills and distance on a big piece of paper; make strokes horizontally at a good pace, and keep a good distance. remember, you don't have to make it done in 1 coat, it will look bad. make a first light coat and let that dry somewhat. come back and make a second coat but be sure to not make any drippy paint.

It wouldnt hurt to key the surface first, with a scotch brite pad, to give the paint a better surface to stick to.

Key the surface?
You mean like cover it with something sticky(glue)?

He means like scratch the surface, if you don't prep the surface the paint will end up chipping off.

Thanks
BTW, your first link doesn't work, it says something like http://[url]http//...etc
And even if I were to remove the messed up code in the beginning it still gives me a 404 error.
Anyways, I got the PDF from the thread, thanks.

Also, where is a good place to get materials? I was thinking of just going to Home Depot and picking up some cheap materials there.

go to the auto parts store. they will have duplicolor. Its automotive quality stuff so we are talking about a great finish if you do it as said above. I have decided I am going to do mine once I figure out what color will go good with a black case / blue LED's.
