I was wondering if you guys had any tips to get a really nice metallic/color finish on the inside of a case. I dont really need the guides that have been posted here on OCN, as ive already read them

i have the basics on painting as, i have painted the outside of computer cases, but this will be my first interior job.

I am planning on painting the inside of this computer case to match the red finish on the front, so far i have picked up some automotive primer and some different rustoleum paints that claim to have a metallic finish but i havent tested them yet.

i am also debating if i want to derivet/rerivet the case when i paint it, i was looking at getting a rivet gun, but is this pretty simple to do, and does it really make the job easier/better quality in the end?

i have plenty of time to do this project and im no real rush, any help is appreciated!

yes you can rerivet or nuts and bolts if you have room.

Some cases you can get away with leaving in one piece, others you can't.

Cases like the Lian Li A70 pull apart really easy so its worth stripping them down when painting them as it'll be easier to get at all the surfaces.

Other cases like the V2000 are held together by a billion rivets so it's a nightmare to pull apart and put back together so i've never bothered with those.

It pretty much all comes down to how well you can get inside the case with a spraycan/gun.
If you can reach all the corners etc with a spray can whilst the case is in one piece then I see no need to pull it apart.
