Default Cutting stainless steel piece off case... advice?

My case came with a built in WC system that was really poor quality.. Mixed metals, single 120mm rad, thin tubing, etc. So I stripped that s%*t out, did some modding, and installed my own custom loop. Now I am pretty much fine tuning and optimizing airflow patterns.

below are some pictures. the piece of metal circled in red plays NO structural role. it was originally fastened to the single rad that was mounted in the roof of the case. I was going to drill a few holes through it for airflow but ive been thinking if i cut it off that will be simpler and more effective. there are pre-cut vents on the top part of the case (see pic).

what would be the best tool to use to cut off this piece of stainless steel? i dont want to disassemble any of the case to do this, so i cant have metal shavings going all over the place. would a dremel be my best bet? thanks for the input

in case anyone wondering the taped-off part of the top of the case is getting waterjetted right now there will be a sheet of acrylic with ventilation holes on risers above the fans. thanks again!

Dremel!

With a heavy duty cutoff wheel ought to do the trick.

You really should take the case apart, if you can't then do it outside, aiming the spray away from most of the case. Also put down wet paper towels to absorb the shavings.
