Its one thing for a person to actually MOD a case, not buy a brand new case, add an outrageous costly water cooling system and show pictures of how cool your settup looks. How about originallity? Any one with a few extra hundred or so bucks(or more) can go buy all those parts and put em in your computer. I mean I give credit where credit is do because its not like its extremely easy, but you cut a few holes in your case and re rout some cables and you have this cool modded case.
Wrong. How about perhaps a couple different catagories. Water cooling, or air cooling...Id like to see some homebuild systems. If I had a few thousand dollars to spend on a computer(or anyone on here) we could be first place too. I take my hat off to people who take an old(but sturdy) case and trasnform it to something out of this world. Its not easy to take your case apart( I mean totally apart rivets and all) custom paint it...mod it and put it back together. You have a project that has a lot of heart not just coolness. Just my point of view. Don't get me wrong some of these cases are great. But a good portion of us dont have water cooling setups, 6 hard drives, extreme processors and a heatsink for every part you can imagine. Im in the process of modding my old apevia alien full tower case. Its a few years old but very sturdy. I bought a new lexan window I have to mod and install..cut the fan holes and all that goodness. I took apart my whole case rivets and all to give it a new paint job. Probly gonna hack to for a second power supply and get some better airflow. Im also adding some carbon fiber vinyl to the front panel maybe even some modders mesh. I thought about taking my other side panel and hacking to for a mesh window to add some extra breathing room. I could have bought a pretty good case for the 80 bucks I have in parts and supplies so far..but at least I have some hard work involved and I'll feel(hopefully) proud of myself when its completed. Its all aircooling, but unless your going for the world record or you can't stand the sound of a few fans running then that is good enough. |
