the last few posts above bring up another point which I'd like to reiterate without stirring the pot. The bioshock mod, while beautiful in its own right, doesnt fit my definition of "mod". That's just my opinion so you can agree or not, but to me, that type of project would be a "bling build". To me, once again, modding means some form of cutting, fabrication, or painting, etc. Something other than buying a bunch of pretty parts, and whipping out a screw driver. Now dont take this the wrong way, I am not downing anyones work, even if its just mainly an assembly.

I think this reintroduces the need for at least 2 categories in the MOTM...
-Bling Builds (have little or no modifications in the true sense of the word, and are mainly just builds of bought parts)
-All others (sratch, some cutting or painting, wire modding, cable mang, etc - something that requires more than a credit card and a screw driver )

that would at least separate the "out of the box" stuff from all others

Also regarding the motm in general, here's a few suggestions (some of which may have been stated above, aside from exisiting rules)
-min reps and/or post count to be able to vote
-no freebie threads if youre in the running
-better advertising by OCN of the MOTM (one of the biggest problems with motm)
-better thread placement of noms and voting threads (the biggest problem with motm to date)

overall, the motm is great, and the people who manage and run it are stellar (thanks guys) I just think there is work to be done to make it better, and prevent the mishaps like we saw with this previous one.

just my two cents, not intended to offend anyone. My opinion comes from all of the hours of hard work and sacrifice I put in to this art, and im sure the same holds true for others.

happy modding

@ CR('s post)

I had similar thoughts after looking at Jago's thread on OCN. In truth, Jago actually did a fair bit of modding... but IIRC little to none of it was mentioned on OCN. If you want to see everything he did, you should look at his build log and discussion thread on his clan site that was linked in Repo's post in the voting thread(IIRC).

Jago had to cut into his case to fit his power supply and tubing. He also made the copper pieces that line the holes in the back of the case, and he made his reservoir. I also believe he added some switches and did a little custom wiring. There is probably more that I am forgetting.

@ Repo

Nom thread please! I stopped by to find out why the July MOTM hasn't started yet. Hope you get everything cleared up soon so this MOTM goes better than the June competition!

I admit I forgot about July this week, I'm sorry. I have been getting my school financial aid/classes together (since they start next week) and it slipped my mind. I will get the nom thread up tonight!
