Lookin' good.
note: suspending (hanging) the pieces will alleviate that "work that sticks to sruff" nuisance. Also as Indy stated, warming the cans really helps. You could also drop the cans into a bucket of warm/hot water for a few minutes. -subscribed ![]()

It will "relax" the paint and make the spray finer and more even.

The can will be a little buoyant, so you can just drop it in. You wouldn't have to worry about getting water in the nozzle anyway. Be certain to blow out a bit from the can off target before painting.

I generally leave the cap on and just place the paint can in the bucket.
Since the can is hermetically sealed (for all intents and purposes), moisture will not get into the can. Also, clearing the nozzle by holding the can upside-down and giving it a quick "pfft" will clear the nozzle of any congealed paint.

The "orange-peel" effect is quite common in painting. The only work-around that I know of is to sand and wax.
Repo_Man is quite handy with bodywork, as are other Members and Moderators (SpookedJungalist did a Painting FAQ)... perhaps seek them out to see if there is a more efficient way to smooth out the paint job. ![]()
