Thanks Duke, that was the kinda thing I wanted to look out for! I would be ok replacing the back panel (probably not as good as repo though), but I don't want to have to expand a thin case or something like that. I'm headed to NM for the week, but when I get back I'm going to hit up all the places that have been suggested and see if I can find something good. I'll post a picture or two when I find a case!

No worries, if all else fails, you can just cut out the old I/O plate. I did in my Phoenix mod. I didn't have the time (or experience at the time of the build) to remake it, but it came out OK.

So far I've had zero luck finding a cheap/free full tower case. I've found two mid tower cases that would be ok, but I figure that if I'm going to spend a month+ modding a case it would be more worth while (and fun) if I had lots of room to work with. If anybody has any more advice on "finding" a full tower case I would sure appreciate some help.

btw, I checked the local goodwill and salvation army and didnt find anything. I live in a small town, so the selection is really weak!

OK, I finally tracked down a place to get cheap/free, old computer cases . I went to the University Surplus Sale Center here in town and they had about a hundred mid tower cases for $5 each. They only had 4 full towers and I bought 2 of them. Here are the pictures of what I got for a total of $15:

The big full tower has no front panel, but I may use one of the other front panels and some bondo to make one...

Here are the back panels...

This is the inside of the large tower....

As of right now I'm planning to use the full tower without the front panel for my mod case. I'm thinking I can steal parts off of the other two. As with most everyone else on this forum I'd really like to hear your ideas on what I should do with these cases!

Also, the cases aren't completely empty, so I'll post a list of what comes out of them later. If anyone is interested in the parts I would be willing to give them away for the cost of shipping.

Glad you found some to work with though, can't beat the price either!

OH MY FREAKIN GAH!

ANOTHER ONE! ! LOL

That first case on the left is the exact case I'm using in my Sanguineus mod (and another guy is using on here as well) Now there are three of them!!!
Wow, what are the odds. Please tell me you have the key for the switch on the front, I've been looking everywhere, lol.

On other fronts though. The big one in the middle is ginormous, good grief, no trouble fitting alot of watercooling in that one, lol! Looks like some great buys man!

Crazy! The place I went even had another one of those cases! The sales guy did give me a key for the lock too, but I'm not positive that it works yet.
